What inspired you to become a designer?
I’ve always been drawn to art and interior spaces. From a young age, creativity played a big role in my life, and interior design became a natural outlet for that. It allows me to combine artistic expression with the way people interact with and experience a space.
What's your favorite part of the design process?
Getting to know the client and their personal style. I love building relationships and really understanding what they’re envisioning, then translating that into words and a design they can visualize and connect with.
Where do you find design inspiration?
I find inspiration by stepping outside of my comfort zone and looking at design from new perspectives. Past projects have encouraged me to look to nature—and even beyond—for ideas, which continues to influence how I approach design today.
What do you wish every client knew before starting a project?
That design is a collaborative process. Open communication makes all the difference, and every project—no matter the size—deserves the same level of care and attention.
What was your favorite project you've ever worked on?
One of my favorite projects was working on a planetarium before joining La-Z-Boy. Designing outside of the residential world was a completely different experience, but incredibly rewarding. It pushed me creatively and encouraged me to draw inspiration from nature and the world beyond our own.
If you weren't an interior designer, what would you do for your job?
I would be a musician. I have a degree in music and have been singing since I was little, so creativity has always been a constant in my life—just expressed in different ways.
